COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR (CNOY) 2024!!

The Mustard Seed and Red Deer Food Bank Raise $40,000+ for CNOY 2024

In a heartwarming display of community solidarity, The Mustard Seed and the Red Deer Food Bank joined forces to raise over $40,000 for Coldest Night Of The Year (CNOY) 2024. This annual event, Canada’s premier fundraising walk, aims to combat poverty and homelessness, and this year’s edition made a significant impact.

Hosted on Saturday, February 24, at The Mustard Seed Red Deer Location, the event attracted more than 150 walkers, all passionate about making a difference in the lives of those in need. Before the walk, participants enjoyed pre-walk activities including live music, games, and complimentary hot beverages from generous sponsors, fostering a sense of camaraderie and excitement.

Led by dedicated team captains, walkers tackled either a 2km or 5km route, symbolizing their commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals in their community. Post-walk celebrations featured a hearty meal of chili and cornbread, generously provided by Soup Sisters Kitchen and Montana’s BBQ and Bar.

This remarkable achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of sponsors like Z 98.9 FM, Real Country 95.5, Pik-n-Pak Produce Ltd., REMAX, Starbucks, Montana’s, and Sinnott’s Independent Grocer. Special recognition goes to Soup Sisters Kitchen for their invaluable contribution of chili across all The Mustard Seed locations participating in CNOY, showcasing the power of collaborative philanthropy. The success of this year’s CNOY highlights the profound impact of compassionate community initiatives in addressing pressing social issues.
