Avaline started hiking and backcountry camping with an explore life attitude. In her first season, she hiked over 100km, climbed numerous mountains, scrambled up and down 75 degree scree slopes, and she has stood on the crest of multiple cliffs. She has stepped over countless piles of horse… gifts and scurried into the complete dark and silence of freezing ice caves. Avaline lead the charge in trying to ford a river, a bonecold torrent of freezing death. On her last adventure she was blessed by a visit from a Great Horned Owl perching just 5m from her open tent window. The symbolic meanings for the owl is: intuition, wisdom, and transformation. So true.
