While Jamie is active, he would never describe himself as an athlete, although he admits hills and bumps are almost impossible to resist. When not tending to Mayor and Council duties around town, you can find him hiking and climbing rather than biking, but he enjoys a good rip around the Vesta Energy Bike Skills Park in Blackfalds. 40 years ago, he discovered BMX, and although he has long retired from racing, he enjoys testing his mountain biking skills. The new fat tire e-bike he rides nowadays would have been the “greatest thing ever” to his 14-year-old self.
