The Red Deer Symphony Orchestra’s 2023-24 concert season marked its 37th year as central Alberta’s flagship professional performing arts organization. With six Main Series performances featuring a spectacular range of music, it was certainly a one to remember.
The RDSO concluded its 2023-24 season with May The Fourth Be With You, featuring music by legendary film composer John Williams, on Saturday, May 4th at the Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre. With soundtracks from blockbuster films including Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter, this sold-out show was the place to be that Saturday night.
From the ominous undertones of the Jaws theme to the heart-breaking beauty of “Remembrances” from Schindler’s List, expertly performed by RDSO concertmaster Naomi Delafield, the audience was regaled with an array of cinematic soundscapes. The heroism of Indiana Jones, the grandiosity of Jurassic Park, and the magical worlds of Harry Potter and Star Wars were all on full display, and the audience responded with a well-deserved standing ovation.

Single tickets go on sale in September, but you’re encouraged to reserve your seats early by subscribing; with such great music, tickets will sell quickly!
