Athlete of the Week

Eiley Morrison

These two Alberta athletes recently competed at a competition in Mazatlan, Mexico. They spent their spring break training in Puerto Vallarta to prepare for the upcoming high school season. Kylie Sargent finished 3rd in the 100m and 400m. Eiley Morrison finished with a tie in the 100m however with the tie breaker was awarded 2nd.

Tom Wass

Tom currently holds the all-time RDP Kings Volleyball record for assists. In mid-March, he had a total of 2,693 assists which placed him second of all-time in the ACAC. Tom is 606 away from tying the conference record.

Katie Passuto

Katie recently competed at the Alberta Provincial Indoor track & field championships. She won the U20 women’s 60m hurdles and is undefeated in the indoor competition season to date. She starts her preparations for the Olympic trials later this summer in Montreal.

Jenna Sellen

Jenna plays forward for the RDP Queens Hockey team. She recently scored two goals resulting in a 6-0 win over the Broncos. She was named the player of the game following the win and now has four goals and six assists for a total of 10 points in 18 games played this season.

Ryland Goulding

Ryland started playing hockey late, but once he started, he knew he would love it for the rest of his life. He says the sport calms him and helps ease his aggressiveness which oddly, can be a quality to effectively harness in such a fast paced game. Ryland shares the same passion with lacrosse.

Ryland McNinch

Forward Ryland McNinch and the Kings had quite an incredible month in January as the team went a perfect 6-0 to start the 2024 calendar year. Loami Rautenbach

In her 2024 season debut, Loami recently finished her day with a first and second-place finish while helping the Queens to two first-place finishes in both relays. Her wins, along with some other incredible performances from her teammates, put the Queens in first place for the meet.

Shae Boyes

With a record-breaking season, Shae Boyes is named the 2023-24 ACAC Women’s Volleyball North Player of the Year and is the first Vikings Women’s Volleyball player to be recognized with the honour. Marvin Baker

Marvin started skating as a kid and played hockey up until work and family duties caused him to take a break. After waging war against an aggressive form of cancer and coming out the winner he decided to get active again and joined the Senior Skating Club. Colby Nemeth

Colby continues his offence leading play as an outside hitter for the RDP Kings. As a Player of the match, Colby recently earned 19 kills (an unreturnable attack) which was a season-high for him. In the first twelve matches of this school year, he achieved 111 total kills and 18 service aces.
